As part of this partnership, OYO’s chain of hotels across India, Malaysia and Nepal will be listed and available for booking on MakeMyTrip and Goibibo. OYO is returning to MMT listings after one and a half year.
MMT and Goibibo had stopped OYO’s listing on their platform to push their own budget hotel business in 2016. But this move failed as they could not build a customer base.
So the phenomenal growth of Oyo over the years persuaded them to bring back the budget hotel aggregator.
This partnership is likely to help OYO in its expansion this year. The company, which started its international operation in Malaysia, is planning to expand to other countries soon.
The partnership will boost India’s growing travel sector by bringing together OYO’s large base of economy, mid-segment and vacation rentals assets and India’s online travel customer-base served by MakeMyTrip, Goibibo & RedBus, the company said in statement.
