Gurugram-based online travel aggregator MakeMyTrip has raised $10 million investment from its Mauritius-based parent company MakeMyTrip Limited. The fresh influx of cash came soon after MakeMyTrip acquired Bangalore-based Bitla Software for an undisclosed amount in order to utilise the latter’s solutions for the bus and hotel supplier sector.
MakeMyTrip has been spending primarily on customer inducement and acquisition after it was merged with Goibibo. The company had recently invested in a chain of other business entities such as Fabhotels, GoFro, HolidayIQ, Inspirock, ixigo.com, Simplotel, and Mygola.com.
MakeMyTrip has also partnered with budget hotel aggregators like Oyo by listing Oyo rooms on its platform. The move was primarily aimed at bringing mid-segment rooms to its customer base, including Goibibo and RedBus.
The company has been involved in massive promotions across all media platforms. As a part of the move, it has partnered with top celebrities to endorse the brand.
