The eighth edition of Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), the flagship event that brings together the best entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters from across the globe, will be held at HICC, Hyderabad on November 28-30.
Since its first edition in Washington DC in 2010, GES has evolved to become a pre-eminent space that connects top entrepreneurship talent with potential investors. It aims to boost emerging startups by promoting them and help them raise fund.
The event will be organized by NITI Aayog in partnership with the government of the United States of America. Hyderabad has been selected as the venue owing to its strong presence of robust startup ecosystem, US companies, top-notch educational institutions and supportive government policies.
This is the first time GES will be hosted in South Asia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the summit.
The US delegation will be led by Ivanka Trump, Advisor to the US president. The theme of this year’s summit is Women First, Prosperity for All. So, the event will focus on women entrepreneurs and discuss means by which their entrepreneurial spirit could be encouraged. It highlights new innovations and insights to elevate women’s entrepreneurship globally.
Before coming to India, different editions of the GES were held in Istanbul, Dubai, Marrakech, Nairobi, Kuala Lumpur and Silicon Valley.
The event will also emphasise India’s vibrant startup ecosystem and discusses strategies to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. Over 1500 delegates from across the globe including entrepreneurs, investors, government officials, educators and business representatives will participate in the event.
